Biography

I began teaching in 2009 in New Jersey, and received my Masters in Special Education in 2010. Due to my marriage to South Dakota native, I left my home in New Jersey and moved to South Dakota. I started teaching for the Douglas School District in 2013. I love teaching Special Education because I feel that I am making a difference in the lives of my students every day.

My Classroom Philosophy

My goal is to create a classroom that is safe, fun, and full of learning that will last a lifetime. Students cannot learn unless there basic needs are met, and this includes feeling safe to take educational risks. I feel that my students can rely on me to support them while they try new things, even if at the time the task seems daunting.
